ISC West returns this week to Las Vegas as the security industry’s largest annual gathering, bringing together technology vendors, integrators, and enterprise buyers across physical security, identity management, and converged cyber-physical systems. As in previous years, the event serves as a primary launch platform for new products and architectural approaches, while also reflecting broader shifts in how organizations design, deploy, and operate security infrastructure.

This year’s edition takes place against a backdrop of accelerating cloud adoption, growing demand for operational efficiency, and continued pressure on organizations to modernize legacy systems without disrupting ongoing operations. The industry is also increasingly divided between open, multi-vendor ecosystems and more tightly integrated, vertically controlled platforms - a theme expected to surface across both product announcements and conference sessions.

Security Guys News will provide rolling coverage of ISC West 2026, highlighting key announcements, product launches, and strategic positioning from across the exhibition floor.

Genetec Expands SaaS Access Control Capabilities

Genetec is using ISC West to present new enhancements to its Security Center SaaS platform, focused on simplifying day-to-day operations while enabling gradual cloud migration.

The update introduces a unified front desk experience that brings visitor management and access control workflows into a single interface. Front desk staff can manage both scheduled and walk-in visitors, while access policies and screening rules are applied in real time. When exceptions are detected, predefined actions - such as notifying security personnel - can be triggered automatically.

The platform is designed to support hybrid deployment models. Through its open architecture and Cloudlink appliances, organizations can integrate existing access control and intrusion hardware into the SaaS environment rather than replacing infrastructure outright. Expanded support now includes Honeywell Galaxy intrusion panels, with additional support for DMP expected by mid-2026.

Genetec is also introducing optional biometric authentication through integration with SAFR SCAN, enabling facial authentication as an alternative to physical credentials.

“Security teams shouldn’t be constrained by legacy infrastructure or forced into all-or-nothing cloud decisions,” said Francis Lachance, Senior Director, Product at Genetec. “Security Center SaaS removes the friction of traditional upgrade cycles while preserving the architectural choice enterprises depend on.”

Gallagher Emphasizes Integrated Architecture and Identity Workflows

Gallagher Security is positioning its presence at ISC West around a broader architectural argument: that tightly integrated platforms can reduce complexity and improve long-term system performance.

At the center of its showcase is AccessNow, a cloud-based platform designed to manage how access and credentials are requested, approved, and provisioned. As an extension of Gallagher’s Command Centre, the system introduces structured workflows intended to reduce administrative overhead while improving visibility and compliance in identity management processes.

Beyond a single product, Gallagher is presenting a full ecosystem approach that includes controllers, migration tools, perimeter security systems, and cloud-based services. These components are designed to operate within a vertically integrated architecture, where hardware, software, and cybersecurity controls are developed and managed under a unified framework.

“When you combine intelligent controllers, seamless migration tools, perimeter innovation, and cloud-based automation into a single architecture, you unlock greater operational efficiency, stronger cybersecurity posture, and better long-term system performance,” said Matt Butts, Executive Vice President – Americas at Gallagher Security.

The company is also participating in a live industry debate at the event addressing one of the sector’s central questions: whether open, multi-vendor systems or fully integrated platforms provide a more effective foundation for modern security operations.

A Market Framing Around Architecture, Not Just Features

Early announcements from ISC West 2026 suggest a continued shift away from feature-level competition toward broader architectural positioning. Vendors are increasingly framing their offerings around how systems connect, scale, and operate over time - particularly in environments where legacy infrastructure, regulatory requirements, and operational continuity constrain rapid transformation.

As the event progresses, additional announcements are expected across video analytics, AI-driven monitoring, identity management, and integrated security platforms. The extent to which vendors can demonstrate measurable operational improvements - rather than incremental feature updates - is likely to shape how solutions are evaluated by enterprise buyers.

Further updates will follow as coverage continues throughout the week.
